7 tips to improve your lifestyle
1. Get a good sleep every night

Waking up and going to bed at a set time will signal your body to reset your internal clock. Ideally, an adult should get 7 to 9 hours of sleep a night. Keeping regular bedtimes and wake-up times allows your body to understand when it’s time to rest and restore, and when it’s time to wake up to be active.
2. About green and all the other colors

Don’t forget fruits and vegetables in your diet: they’re rich in fiber, vitamins, and minerals. You can also incorporate fresh herbs – little bombs of micro-nutrients.
Try to create balanced, healthy plates with a dose of protein, a dose of carbohydrates, a dose of fat, and a good portion of vegetables. You can read more in this article: Packing a healthy lunch box – or in this one: Re-learning how to eat without counting calories
- Always opt for natural, unprocessed foods.
The Nutricoach app will help you create plates that are both balanced AND gourmet. There are tons of delicious recipes – and, best of all, you can adapt the portions and calories to fit your needs and objectives.
- If you find it difficult to eat many veggies, try starting your day with a green juice.
3. Move your body

Movement is the key to good health. If you don’t stay physically active regularly, I recommend at least 30 minutes per day of walking. As a bonus, the oxygen you get by going outside is also good for your health, you breathe better, and – if the weather is nice – the benefits are doubled, because you get a good dose of vitamin D.

If you like playing sports, regularity is important: 1 to 4 times a week, depending on your wants and needs. Even if you work out only once a week, as long as you go every week, it’s fine. Or, you can go on walks.

4. Water, water, and more water!

Water should be (almost) your only source of hydration.
1.5 L per day per adult, minimum. More if your physically active, your job is physical, you live in a hot environment, or your doctor has recommended it.
5. Cut back on junk

Keep your consumption of sodas, heavily processed foods, and alcohol to a minimum, and cut out tobacco (if possible). These substances significantly accelerate aging and drastically reduce your health.
6. Soap up, please

Hands, teeth, body, hair.
Regularly washing your hands reduces your risk of contamination. Thoroughly clean your hands before eating or preparing food, and after every trip to the toilet.
The recommendation is to brush your teeth at least twice a day. Ideally, you should brush your teeth after every meal. Oral hygiene is often overlooked, but the risks of inflammation or cavities are very real.
You should wash your body every day to remove dead cells, excess oil or sweat, and slow the multiplying of bacteria. Opt for a soap with a pH (hydrogen potential) between 5 and 7 to avoid disturbing the epidermis’s natural acidity.
When it comes to your hair, space out your shampoos. To maintain an optimal balance of oils, and keep longer hair clean, regular shampoos are essential. On average, the scalp needs 2 to 3 shampoos per week: 1 to 2 for a dry scalp, and 3 to 4 for an oily scalp.
7. Zen attitude

If daily life is often stressful, try to regularly take a step back, slow down, and breathe deeply.
Stress is harmful to the body. If you are anxious by nature, I recommend that you integrate a little meditation in your routine – or something that promotes calming of the body, such as yoga, relaxation therapy, painting, reading, knitting…
